Just Wondering

Did you know that Tennessee has an odor when the temperature starts rising? It does!!! It isn't something that is lingering in the air. It is this, ummm, well, coppery? sort of odor when it attaches itself to the skin of my loved ones & me. I forget about it until someone goes outside, comes back in & I can tell that they got hot. I remember this from when Lara was living at home. She and her daddy both would have the odor when they had been outside. Now I notice it with Jerry. He went to the barbershop this morning. He was only gone for a brief amount of time. (There must not have been a wait at the shop). When he came in I said it must be hot outside. He said, "It is". Now mind you, this man can tolerate heat. I traveled all over the United States with him a few years ago and he got extremely hot but until he moved to Tennessee I do not recall him ever having the odor. Has any one else ever noticed it on themselves or others????

OK - sems like I'm live now. My other comment was long and probably interesting. This one won't be. Yes I have noticed the smell - I noticed it on my daughter also in KY. I think it has something to do with our sweat because when I notice it on myself, or whomever I smell it on -I/they has been outside and exerting! Like a slightly dirty dog somewhat. Anyway - yes, I have noticed it and coppery is a good description.

The only odor I know is sweat. I can smell sweat on someone if they have been outside for a period of time, but not just an outdoors types of smells, I can't.

I do recall that....smell. It used to permeate my skin when outside there. Kinda neat that you are giving me mental memory of a body memory.
